CRASH
This collection was born from my personal interpretation of the film Crash, directed by David Cronenberg, which explores the fascination with trauma and the attraction to what, at some point, caused us harm. It portrays the obsessive desire to relive the pain, to stay connected to the trauma, to be shattered in the same way, repeatedly. The attraction to danger and the unpredictable, and how these impulses intertwine with an erotic tension linked to fetishes for cars, machines, and scars/prosthetics. The idea of destruction resonated deeply with me, especially because at the time I watched the film, I was doing an internship in Berlin. The city, with its intense club culture, has a very distinct aesthetic, marked by bold silhouettes, goth/dark influences, and an atmosphere filled with sweaty bodies and desire. I then decided to explore this dark eroticism, merging the conceptual element of the film with the unique aesthetic of Berlin’s nights. In this collection, I use unconventional materials such as broken glass, resin, cables, resin-soaked organza to replicate sweaty bodies, and crystals that I grew directly on denim. All while maintaining the idea of connecting trauma and representing beauty in destruction.cables. A visceral blend of fragility and aggression.

Continuing my work of finding beauty in destruction. “CRASH” captures the raw intensity of a collision in a dress made of broken glass and resin.
